Actually, a new rule has been implemented by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). In this case, the new SIM card will remain closed for 24 hours after it is activated. This means that the facility of incoming, outgoing and SMS will be closed for 24 hours after the SIM is activated. Such a step has been taken in view of the increasing incidents of SIM card fraud. All telecom companies have been given 15 days to implement the new rule by the Department of Telecom. what will be the advantage of it

DoT will do customer customer verification within 24 hours of SIM activation whether request for new SIM or upgrade has been placed or not. If customer rejects the request for new SIM, the new SIM will not be activated.
