The USPTO has granted two patents to Samsung for a mobile device with a flexible display. The photographs attached to the patent hint at the patent design. As reported by gizchina, one of the two patents is named “Tablet Computer”. The patent detail states that the tablet with the screen folds into the body. In the center of the edges are connectors including a USB Type-C port.
The second document, titled “Foldable Mobile Phone with Transitional Graphical User Interface”, suggests that it will have a Galaxy Fold-like design. However, in the patented image, the device has a notch at the top-right corner of the flexible display. This notch houses the front camera and other sensors. There is also a smaller external display, which is topped by another front camera. There is a vertical triple-camera setup at the back of the device.
We don’t have any details about the specifications of both the devices. The company had announced that it would launch more foldable devices in the coming years. Some of these foldable phones will be priced at an affordable price to make them more mainstream.
The company will launch two new premium foldable phones
Meanwhile, Samsung will launch two new premium foldable phones. One of the two devices to be launched on August 11 is the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which is rumored to cost around $2,000 (around Rs 1.50 lakh). Samsung’s second foldable phone is Z Flip 3, which will cost around $ 1,000 (about Rs 75 thousand).
