New Delhi. India’s three main telecom companies can start 5G connectivity in India in October this year. Jio chairman Akash Ambani has also hinted at launching 5G connectivity across the country around August 15. Where on one hand telecom companies are ready to start 5G services in India. At the same time, experts believe that the telecom can increase the prices of tariff plans to compensate for its recent expenditure.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is not charging spectrum usage cost from telecom companies. Please inform that the department has also abolished the floor rate of three percent. Due to all this, researchers at Nomura Research believe that India’s main three telecom companies can increase the prices of tariff plans by 4 percent. It has also been said that Jio users may face a higher hike than Airtel users. According to the research report, both the companies i.e. Jio and Airtel can charge premium cost for 5G plans. ICICI Securities, on the other hand, believes that telcos can increase tariffs by up to 15 percent to cover their recent expenses.

However, this is not the first time that we are hearing news about the growth of plans in India by telecom companies. Even before this, tariff plans were increased in November-December last year. Now the second phase of increase in tariff plan can also be seen soon.

Vodafone Idea CEO Ravinder Takkar while announcing the quarterly revenue for the third quarter of the financial year 2022 had said, “It is possible that the price may be hiked once again in 2022. On the other hand, Airtel MD and CEO said. For India and South Asia, Gopal Vittal has also said that he expects a tariff hike in 2022.
